SlimAmerica slammed by State of Tennessee - (Feb 3, 1997)
SlimAmerica, Inc., a weight loss company in Florida, claims its product can Ablast
up to 49 pounds off you in 29 days with Ano discipline, no soul searching, no starvation,

Infitrim
How does it work - "Simple! If you apply natural law to human metabolic
physiology, you find that there are simple reasons why weight is gained, AND
lost. It isn't magic, or chemicals, or starvation diets, and the like. It IS
providing your body with nutrition to the cells of the body, AND utilizing your
body's need for enzymes to digest the fat and turn it into energy."
LipoChromozyme
"Includes a patented chromium source, proven to help regulate insulin, minimize
mood swings, level out sugar highs and lows, and reduce food cravings. Increases the
body's ability to make lean muscle and burn fat while exercising."
The problem is that these folks have been trying to sell the public on this and other schemes for years and they just can't do it.
Bad Medicine for Good People
The Kansas City Star ran a series of articles on October 20-23, 1996 entitled
"Plain Prey" that described the exploitation of Amish and Mennonites
by the purveyors of "suspect medicine." They mention Lipo Chromozyme
and Live cell demonstrations. These products and techniques are in use in Ontario,
and some chiropractors and lay practitioners are using them.

Thin Scents Smashed - In March 1997 full page ads were placed in major Canadian newspapers for a bogus product called Thin Scents. The scamsters operated out of a mail box in Nepean, Ontario and used the name of a doctor Alan Hirsh who had been on the talk show circuit to push his idea that certain odours would make you lose weight. This raised the eyebrows of the Competition Bureau in Ottawa, and it took over three years to close these people down. We wonder how much money these folks made, and would like to talk to anyone who used this junk. Please contact us:
Half-Million Dollar Fine for Deceptive Marketing by Mail
Why did it take three years to smash this bogus diet scam. When we complained to the Competition
Bureau we expected it would take a few months to shut these people down. Guess again. It show how
companies can get away with highway robbery, especially in Quebec.
